FAQs
about Acupuncture
Can I have
acupuncture if I am having other Therapies
?
Of course.
Acupuncture works great in conjunction with other
alternative therapies such as homoeopathy, EFT, massage,
osteopathy and more. Plus there will always be a place
for western medicine. Although I am an advocate of
alternative medicine practices I do not believe that one
particular therapy is a “cure all” for everything and
that it's the holistic approach that and usually the
persons pro-activeness themselves that gets the patient
better.
How
Long with it take before I get better?
I always get asked this question but
it all depends on the person and the condition. As I have said
before TCM acupuncture treats the whole person and the
underlying cause of the illness. It could be a simple in out
treatment or the treatment may uncover underlying issues that
need to be dealt with. I will always discuss this any client at
the first consultation before agreeing a realistic treatment
plan
I have
tried Acupuncture before at my Doctors and it didn't do
anything!
There are many different types of
acupuncture. Medical acupuncture and Traditional Chinese
Acupuncture are quite different and so is the training. Medical
acupuncture training is a few days. TCM acupuncture training is
a few years! If you would like to discuss this with me please
call for more details
I am
scared of Needles!
Surprisingly enough I have had a
number of patients come to see me with needle phobia and
treated them successfully. If this is a real concern it isn't
always necessary to use needles, though is preferable.
Sometimes hypnosis can be used in conjunction with
acupuncture
